Jimmy Hauburger Memorial Scholarship

Two Scholarships $3,000 each

How to Apply:

1. Applicant is required to be a 2024 graduating Tappan Zee High School Senior.
2. Applicant is required to write an essay between 200 – 350 words. The essay should explain why you believe you deserve this scholarship and it should provide examples of how you have shown compassion, practiced kindness, prevented harassment or bullying of others or helped someone in need.
3. Applicant is required to have one recommendation submitted on their behalf from a school staff or community member. Recommendations from family members are not acceptable. The recommendation must include:
   1. How long the recommender has known the student.
   2. In what capacity the recommender knows the student.
   3. Specific examples of when the recommender witnessed the applicant doing one or more of the following:
      • Showing compassion
      • Practicing acts of kindness
      • Preventing harassment or bullying of others
      • Helping someone in need

4. Applicant is required to email their name, address and phone number along with their essay and the name of the person writing their recommendation to scholarship@jimmyhauburgerfoundation.org no later than April 30, 2024.
5. Recommender is required to email their recommendation directly to scholarship@jimmyhauburgerfoundation.org no later than April 30, 2024.

Note: The Jimmy Hauburger Memorial Foundation Board of Directors will award the scholarships upon review of all applications sent in.  The JHMF Board reserves the right to interview semi-finalists if deemed necessary to decide the final outcome. Their decision is final.
